These terms govern your use of this website and any transaction between you and Cash For Junk Cars LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”), a vehicle buyer licensed with the Illinois Commerce Commission under ILICC #224719.
1. What a Quote Is
A quote we provide by phone, text or through the form on this site is an offer to purchase, based on the vehicle details you supply. It is not a binding contract until the vehicle is inspected at pickup and both parties complete the sale.
We aim to pay the quoted figure exactly. The quoted amount may be adjusted at pickup only where the vehicle materially differs from how it was described — for example, a missing engine, transmission or catalytic converter that was not disclosed, or a vehicle that is not the year, make or model described. If the adjusted figure is not acceptable to you, you are free to decline and we leave without the vehicle at no cost to you.
2. Your Representations as Seller
By selling a vehicle to us, you confirm that:
- You are the legal owner, or are authorised in writing to act for the legal owner;
- The vehicle is free of undisclosed liens, loans and security interests;
- You have the legal right to transfer ownership;
- Any information you gave us about the vehicle is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- The vehicle contains no hazardous materials beyond ordinary automotive fluids, and no personal property you wish to retain.
If a lien is discovered after purchase, you agree to cooperate in resolving it.
3. Title and Documentation
Illinois permits a licensed recycler to purchase a vehicle 10 or more model years old without a title, on presentation of photo identification and a signed statement of ownership. Vehicles newer than 10 model years require the title or a duplicate issued by the Illinois Secretary of State. Indiana transactions may proceed under BMV form 43399 where applicable.
You are responsible for providing truthful identification. We are required to record seller identification for every purchase and to report transactions as Illinois and Indiana law require.
4. Pickup and Towing
Towing is provided at no charge within our service area. You agree to ensure the vehicle is accessible to a tow truck and that any gate, garage or parking obstruction is cleared in advance. If our driver cannot access the vehicle on arrival and this was not disclosed, we may reschedule.
A person authorised to sign the paperwork and surrender the keys must be present at pickup. That person need not be you, but you must tell us who to expect.
5. Personal Property
Remove all personal belongings before pickup. Once a vehicle is collected it enters processing, and we cannot retrieve items left inside. We are not liable for personal property left in a sold vehicle. Check the glovebox, boot, under the seats and any roof or tow storage.
6. Payment
Payment is made in cash at the time of pickup, before the vehicle is loaded. We do not issue post-dated payment, and we do not withhold any portion of the agreed figure for towing, paperwork or processing.
7. Plates, Registration and Insurance
You are responsible for removing your license plates before the vehicle leaves, returning them to the Illinois Secretary of State where required, and cancelling your insurance policy after the vehicle has been collected. Cancelling insurance while the vehicle remains on a public road is your risk, not ours.
8. Transfer of Risk
Ownership and risk pass to us once payment is made and the vehicle is loaded. From that point the vehicle is processed for recycling or parts recovery at our discretion. A sold vehicle cannot be recovered or repurchased.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Illinois law, our liability arising from any transaction or from use of this website is limited to the purchase price of the vehicle concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute is subject to the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes apply to transactions entered into after the date of posting.
