Cash For Junk Cars LLC wants every Chicago-area customer to be able to get a quote and sell a vehicle, regardless of how they use the web. Selling a junk car should not require a mouse, perfect eyesight or a steady hand.
The Standard We Build To
This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the benchmark referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance and by most U.S. accessibility law.
What We Have Built In
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — links, the quote form, the tab switcher, buttons — is reachable and operable by keyboard alone. A “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Visible focus. Focused elements carry a high-contrast outline, so you can always see where you are.
- Screen reader support. Pages use correct landmark regions and a single, properly ordered heading hierarchy. The quote form is fully labelled, announces validation errors through a live region, and describes each step as you move through it.
- Image alt text. Every image on the site carries descriptive alternative text.
- Colour contrast. Text and interface colors are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- Responsive and zoomable. Layouts work from small phones upward and remain usable at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Plain language. We write in clear, direct English and explain industry terms such as “catalytic converter” or “salvage title” where they appear.
Known Limitations
We would rather name these than pretend they do not exist:
- Some legacy pages carried over from our previous website may contain tables that are less straightforward to navigate with a screen reader. We are reworking these.
- Our VIN lookup relies on a U.S. Department of Transportation service. If that service is slow or unavailable, the lookup may time out. You can always enter your vehicle details manually instead, or call us.
If Something Does Not Work
You never have to use this website to do business with us. If any part of this site is a barrier, call (773) 939-3333 between 6 AM and 9 PM any day and a person will take your details and give you a quote directly.
